My own story
I guess I’ve always loved stories. I love the ones that transport you to a whole world. I love to see things through the eyes of a protagonist I can relate to. I love to explore a world full of unknowns. I enjoy the way well written characters can relate to each other, such that reading can feel like being surrounded by friends.
When I finish a series and am sad to let go of the characters. When I can’t find a good book and get frustrated by characters I can’t relate to, or worlds I don’t enjoy exploring. Sometimes I like to write my own stories.
2020 was a tough year for me. Through the boredom and the isolation, I created a very special retreat. A world and a set of characters so complete and realistic it almost felt like I could step outside reality.
I built the world to make sense, yet contain so much wonder and excitement it was more than would ever fit into a book. There are depths of magic lore which have effects on worlds so diverse they are barely touched upon within Elvira’s story. But I feel that having a comprehensive magic system
underlying Elvira’s experiences helps avoid any plot holes or shallowness.
